W.G.A. 2008 Field Conference
September 3-7, 2008

This year’s fall field conference will be based in Laramie Wyoming and will focus on the geological assets of Southeast Wyoming.  Followed by a short course offered on Friday afternoon on Laramide-Style Folding and Associated Secondary Structures. The conference will offer three field trips—including structure, tectonics and oil and gas of Shirley and Hanna Basins, Como Bluff, the future site of a coal to liquids plant, Casper Formation, the Overland Trail history, kimberlites, and a variety of geologic subjects in the Snowy Range Mountains.

The Wyoming Geological Association invites you to meet in the Gem City of Laramie, Wyoming for the 2008 Annual Field Conference, September 3-7, 2008. Conference presentations will include a broad range of subjects including economic geology and general geology of southeastern Wyoming. The WGA is soliciting presentations on topics relevant to the conference for presentation on September 4 and 5, 2008. These presentations are expected to be 20 minutes in duration with a question and answer period to follow. Abstracts should be e-mailed to Alan Thompson at athomp2@wyo.gov or phone 307-777-8759. Graduate students in the geological sciences are encouraged to participate.
