Guidebook: 410 pages, 28 papers, plates in pocket
The 1993 guidebook focuses on the past, present
and future of Wyoming geology in recognition of the fifty-year
anniversary of the Wyoming Geological Association. The guidebook
includes historical papers on Wyoming geology, WGA activities,
oil and gas development, and dinosaurs during the last fifty
years and before. There is a structural paper on Rocky Mountain
foreland structures, as well as papers on the Wind River Range,
the Antelope Arch and the Piney Creek Thrust. Stratigraphic
papers cover the Frontier Sandstone on the Moxa Arch, Lewis
production from the Table Rock-Delaney Rim Field, and sequence
analysis of the North Grieve and Sun Ranch fields, as well
as a paper on new ideas in Wyoming coal petrology. There is
a section on geochemistry and enhanced hydrocarbon recovery
that includes papers on pressure compartments in the Powder
River and Green River basins, hydrocarbon generation in the
Wind and Green River basins, and gas injection studies for
enhanced recovery.
