EDITOR: Christopher E. Mullen

Guidebook: 314 pages, 23 papers, plates in pocket

Road Log: 133 pages, 4 road logs

The 1992 guidebook and road log volumes emphasize the geology in the Wind River and Green River Basins of Wyoming. They were published in association with the 1992 AAPG Rocky Mountain Section Meeting, held in Casper. The guidebook contains selected papers presented at the meeting, as well as a special section on the University of Wyoming-Gas Research Institute, Natural Gas Resource Characterization Study of the Mesaverde Group in the Greater Green River Basin. Stratigraphic papers cover burial history, diagenesis, and sequence stratigraphy of the Frontier Formation, and Triassic stratigraphy in the Big Horn and Green River Basins. Tectonics papers include assessments of fracture patterns and stress directions in the Frontier Formation, and an analysis of the influence of tectonism, climate, and cycles on early Cretaceous fluvial deposits. The guidebook contains oil field papers on Buck Draw, Notches Dome, South Casper Creek, and Table Rock Fields, as well as a discussion of cyclic CO2-enhanced oil recovery in Wyoming Cretaceous fields. There are two coal papers, one mineral paper, and a catalog of formations for the Greater Green River Basin.
